Jørgen Kjems and Ken Howard are awarded a three-year grant of DKK 9,8 million from The Danish Council for Strategic Research for a project that focuses on the development of new drugs for cystic fibrosis and inflammatory bowel disease.

AU Ideas has awarded a grant of DKK 5 million (approximately EUR 670,000) to Ditlev E. Brodersen to start a pilot centre for research into giant enzymes. The research could form the basis for developing new pharmaceuticals.

AU Ideas has awarded a grant of DKK 500,000 (approximately EUR 67,000) to Pia Møller Martensen to develop a research project on decreased fertility in women with endometriosis – a painful, chronic disease that occurs when endometrium-like tissue is located outside the uterus.

Nick Stub Laursen is currently spending two years at the Scripps Research Institute in California in connection with his studies on influenza vaccine.

Young Elite Researcher Prize awarded to influenza vaccine researcher

The Danish Council for Independent Research has awarded a Young Elite Researcher Prize to Postdoctoral Scholar Nick Stub Laursen to develop a universal influenza vaccine, so that it will no longer be necessary to be vaccinated with a new vaccine every year.

Quantitative genetics researcher awarded Young Elite Researcher Prize

The Danish Council for Independent Research has selected Postdoctoral Scholar Jan Lassen as a Young Elite Researcher. He carries out research into quantitative genetics and will ensure less methane emission from dairy cattle.
